WSB’s GIS Group has been taking on increasingly complex and innovative GIS projects and has an immediate need for a GIS Specialist in our Rochester Office to bring creative and technical solutions to our clients.

A Small Scale View of Your Role: WSB seeks a technically sound GIS professional with excellent communication skills to work closely with internal and external clients to create GIS solutions for our diverse client base. You will work with end users, create mapping products, and perform complex GIS analysis using the ArcGIS Platform and AutoCAD Civil 3D. While project oriented, you will be required to understand WSB’s core business and be able to see the “big picture”.

Your Attributes: A Bachelor's degree in GIS, or Geography and one year of professional experience is required. Additional requirements include: a thorough working knowledge of the ArcGIS platform; experience working with database management systems, knowledge of coordinate geometry, familiarity with cartographic methods and symbols; and the ability to read and understand maps, schematic drawings, diagrams and instruction manuals.

Expertise working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and knowledge of Land Use Planning and Development is preferred. Experience using common GIS programming languages, ArcGIS Server, the database design process, and relational DBMS are also preferred.
